You don't often realise how much you need something until it's gone. Missing teeth can affect you every day.
Many patients don't know the true benefits of implant treatment because they haven't been exposed to this type of treatment before. We hope this blog will answer some of the questions you may have and give you an insight into the true benefits of this life changing treatment.
A dental implant is a replacement tooth root, onto which we can place either a single crown or a bridge (multiple teeth stuck together). Dental implants can be used to replace from one tooth to a full mouth replacement.
This patient attended our clinic with retained and broken root bits in multiple areas. He was keen in improving his smile and confidence. The root fragments were extracted and all available treatment options were discussed, starting from dentures to implant retained bridge. Patient was keen in having fixed replacement and opted to have implant retained bridge to replace the missing upper front teeth.
We provided this patient with a thorough assessment and 3-D CBCT scan to plan the optimum solution. All our implant placements are digitally planned and guided. This means all the planning is done in a computer before being transferred to the patient's mouth, thereby guaranteeing very precise implant placement and restoration for a very aesthetic and functional result.
By providing 2 dental implants in the upper front region (UR2 and UL1), we were able to plan a 3-unit implant supported bridge to replace the missing three front teeth. To replace the missing canine tooth in the left UL3, we placed another dental implant with a crown. This option has enabled him to be able to bite into anything with full force once again and has also improved his confidence to smile big.
Picture 1 shows the missing 3 teeth in the upper front region and the missing teeth in the upper left side. The x-ray image shows how we placed 2 parallel dental implants in the UR1 and UL2 sites to fit a screw retained, aesthethic and fully functional bridge and 1 implant in UL3 region with a screw retained crown as shown in picture 2.
This treatment has fully restored this patient’s smile and has been life changing. He stated that he was delighted with the outcome and wished he had had this treatment sooner! He said he never knew he could have his teeth back and so refrained from seeing the dentist. An upcoming school reunion made him want to get a consultation to improve his smile and his ne smile has now changed his life forever.

If you have the misfortune to live with failing or missing teeth, you may feel like your days of laughter and smiles have passed. Upon losing teeth, patients often report feeling low on self-confidence and depressed at the thought of living on a restricted diet for years to come.
Immediate-load implants can restore even the most compromised smiles, giving you a fully-functional set of fixed teeth and brand-new confidence, in just a single day of treatment without compromising long-term quality.
We are super exited to share the journey of this lovely patient. He had all his teeth taken out due to severe gum disease and upper and lower full dentures were made as a replacement option. After going through the mental trauma of losing all his teeth and having to use dentures, my patient was heart-broken to find out that he was unable to cope with dentures for more than a few minutes and could not eat with them still.
After a thorough assessment we planned advanced CBCT assessments to study the bone availability and 3-Dimensional intra-oral scans to design and fabricate replacement teeth (bridge) that would be both functional and aesthetic.

On the big day, we placed implants in the upper and lower jaw along with bone graft where needed and screwed in a fixed bridge to replace the missing upper and lower teeth in just a few hours. All treatment was carried out under intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic so our patient literally slept through it and woke up with his smile back.

At the end of the big day, he was over the moon with his life changing smile. Over the following 6 months, the bone and gum grafts continued to heal and then we simply replaced the upper and lower ‘initial’ bridges with beautiful looking Final Zirconia bridges. He could not get words out on the big day, but his big smile spoke for itself – Another life changing smile!

Here at our specialist clinic, we provide life-changing full arch Dental Implant treatments. This is the ideal solution for those who require all of their teeth replacing at the same time. We provide the revolutionary Same Day Teeth on Dental Implants approach - The ultimate solution to recreate essential function and a beautiful smile.
This lovely patient attended our clinic wanting treatment to replace her failing and missing upper teeth. She has been very conscious about her smile and nervous about her deteriorating dentition for a number of years, however, she was hanging onto her teeth due to the fear of being without teeth. The fear of having to spend any time without teeth whilst undergoing treatment to replace teeth is something that often puts patients off undergoing the treatment they so dearly need.
Same day teeth is a long-lasting solution for replacing loose, rotten, missing or failing teeth with a full set of dental implants in one day. After a thorough assessment we planned a treatment process whereby this patient would never be without fixed teeth. Our CBCT assessment and 3-Dimensional intra-oral scans enabled us to predictably design and manufacture replacement teeth (bridge) that would look very natural and like her own teeth.

On the big day we removed all the failing upper teeth, placed bone grafts, gum grafts, dental implants and fitted the replacement bridge. Started at 9 am and finished for 2 pm - All in the same day!

Following this day of treatment she already had a life changing smile. Over the following 6 months, the bone and gum grafts continued to heal and then we simply replaced the ‘initial’ bridge with a ‘final’ bridge. The final bridge is made in Zirconia a beautiful and life like porcelain material, designed to be the perfect shape, shade and form to give her the smile she wanted.

A failing front tooth can cause problems both physically and psychologically. This lovely patient had a fall a few years ago and since then the front tooth had changed colour and was now getting loose. She said she had stopped smiling for a few years now and was looking at options to treat the tooth.
Full examination and investigations showed that the tooth was suffering from internal resorption (which means the root is starting to disappear from within). We discussed the various treatment options available and patient opted to have extraction of the tooth and an implant retained crown.
CT scan of the upper jaw was done and digital planning was done for extraction of the tooth and dental implant placement. All our implant planning is done using an advanced software called CO-Diagnostics by one of our senior implant dentists.
This picture shows the digital placement plan that was created before the implant placement surgery.
Extraction of tooth with internal resorption was carried out under Local Anesthetsia. The root apex was ankylosed and needed surgical removal resulting in extensive bone defect. This was done by our highly skilled implant dentist. We use Premium Straumann Implants to give our patients the best possible standard of care and long term success.
The treatment outcome was fantastic considering there was a large bone defect and thin gingival biotype.
We use one an award winning and one of the best labs and technicians in the UK to fabricate all out restorative work. We liaise closely with the lab in making life-like restorations that look and feel great. Here is a blue print of how we discuss with the lab to make a real looking implant crown for this patient.
This collage shows the before, during and after treatment pictures. The treatment outcome was fantastic considering there was a large bone defect and thin gingival biotype.
Our patient was over the moon with the results and so were we.
My implant journey required extraordinary skill with a tooth extraction and bone graft - lots of complications to resolve. The implant is like having back the tooth I had before it was damaged in a sporting accident many years ago. I am hugely grateful to Gaya for her care and skill - and my new tooth!
